About the Project:

After our work with a school district and their playgrounds, we were asked to give a little TLC to a local city park. Playground Grass was the clear solution to upgrading the park’s cracked rubber surfacing.

Project Type:

Playground Grass

After installing Playground Grass in one school district’s numerous playgrounds, we were approached to do the same for a local city park. It’s original crumb rubber surfacing was beginning to crack, crumble, and make the park look unsightly. But it wasn’t just for looks – we wanted to make the park safer for little kids to run and play. The rubber surfacing was no longer functional because of the cracks and lifted edges, but UV rays had also worn down the integrity of the product, causing the rubber to harden and no longer meet the ASTM fall height requirements.

Playground Grass was installed because of its soft, lush appearance and attention to safety. The park’s artificial turf now meets ASTM 1292 fall height requirements for up to 12 feet, making this a safe environment for kids to play and fall on. Parents can breathe a sigh of relief as they watch their little dare devils run around. The best part is that the park won’t have to deal with costly and time consuming maintenance, and won’t be needing an upgrade for years to come.
