A successful new playground design
Summit Park is an expansive, 130-acre regional park in Blue Ash, Ohio. With facilities like The Commons and Glass Canopy, the Summit Park Community Center, a seasonal skating rink, and more, this is a park like you’ve never seen before!
When Summit Park partnered with ForeverLawn of Ohio to create a fun playground for kids, ForeverLawn installed 3300 square feet of Playground Grass™ Ultra to create large mounds that kids can run, jump, roll, and play on. This isn’t something you see at very many (if any) playgrounds, and kids have enjoyed the unique setup of this playground. The city estimated that there were 10,000 kids playing on the mounds just in the first two weeks alone.
At the time of opening, they had a surfacing company come in and install pour-in-place surfacing under the play equipment, but over time that surfacing wore down, while the Playground Grass held up perfectly. Seeing these results, it was an easy choice to cover the pour-in-place surfacing with more Playground Grass to keep the park looking great for years to come!
